ASU-USA Pathways: Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements
When you apply to ASU-USA Pathways, you may be admitted to the 1-term, 3-term or Earned Pathways program.
Admission is based on your high school GPA and English proficiency.

*GPA shows your average grades and academic performance. Please submit your high school transcripts when you apply so Global Launch can calculate your GPA correctly. If you have taken any college-level courses, you must also submit those transcripts because these grades may affect your GPA.
**Qualifying English test scores include a minimum of one of the following:
- IELTS: 5.5
- Duolingo: 90
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based test):
- For exams taken before January 21, 2026: 55 iBT TOEFL
- For exams taken on or after January 21, 2026: 3.5 TOEFL iBT
Earned Pathways
Students who do not have qualifying English test score can meet the English proficiency requirement by studying in the Global Launch English Language Program. These students are called Earned Pathways students. They can move into the ASU-USA Pathways program after completing one of these English Language Program levels:
- Intermediate 2 with all grades of B (84%) or higher; or
- Advanced 1 with all grades of C (70%) or higher
