English for Admission and Achievement

If your goal is to attend Arizona State University to earn your undergraduate or graduate degree, you can meet your English proficiency requirement for ASU admission at Global Launch.

Global Launch offers online English courses for undergraduate and graduate-degree seeking students who wish to improve their university-level English skills online.

Through watching lectures and participating in online discussion boards with your classmates and instructors, you will gain the confidence to communicate in English and perform better at the university level.

When you complete either English for Admission and Achievement online course with an 80% or better, you will fulfill the English proficiency requirement for admission into the ASU undergraduate or graduate degree program of choice.

Why Global Launch?

Standardized tests like the TOEFL, IELTS and PTE only measure your current level of English. However, for you to successfully succeed at a top American research university, you will need to understand and be able to apply concepts such as critical thinking, research methodology and sourcing and citing.

Course Details

The Global Launch online English for Admission and Achievement courses are administered by a real instructor who will provide feedback, interact with you on discussion boards and in video interviews, and grade your weekly projects and coursework.

Meet our students

Diana Salas Diaz, an ASU Global Launch alumna, achieved her dream of a career in international diplomacy with the help of the program. Hailing from Peru, Diana's passion for assisting underserved communities and understanding government's role in economic development drove her. Through dedication to enhancing her English language skills and preparing for graduate admission tests, Diana completed a two-month English for graduate admission program offered by ASU Global Launch in 2020. Her hard work paid off as she gained admission to ASU and graduated from the Thunderbird School in May 2022 with a master's degree in global management, specializing in global affairs and global business. Currently, Diana serves as a senior program coordinator for Latin America at the ASU International Development Initiative (IDI), overseeing projects funded by notable organizations like the U.S. Agency for International Development, Inter-American Bank, World Bank, and corporate funders. She focuses on vital sectors including education, sustainability, economic growth, health, and citizen security.
