Course details

The Online Self-Paced courses are designed to improve your English as well as your advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and academic writing skills. Each program has multiple courses; each course takes eight weeks to complete, and requires 5-10 hours of study per week. You will receive immediate and ongoing feedback on your progress within each course. When you complete each course with a grade of 70% or better, you will earn an ASU course completion certificate.

Learn English Now!, Global Launch’s general English courses, will help you communicate in basic conversational English in your daily life.

These courses are best for: basic through high-intermediate learners (CEFR A2–B2).

Global Launch provides a free online diagnostic test that will tell you which course you should take to begin your English study. Based on your test score, Global Launch will determine your current English language skill level, and will recommend the course that's right for you. Your test results are graded using the following scale:

0 – 15%

You are qualified for Learn English Now, Entry A or Learn English Now, Entry B

16 – 30%

You are qualified for Learn English Now, Entry C or Learn English Now, Entry D

31 – 45%

You are qualified for Learn English Now, Course 1 or Learn English Now, Course 2

46 – 61%

You are qualified for Learn English Now, Course 3 or Learn English Now, Course 4

62 – 77%

You are qualified for Learn English Now, Course 5 or Learn English Now, Course 6

78 – 100%

Frequently Asked Questions

How long are the courses?
  • Each course is 8 weeks long. All courses except the ASU admission courses are self-paced and begin at any time.
How much do the online courses cost?
  • The online courses cost $350 USD per course.
  • The ASU admission courses English for Undergraduate Admission and English for Graduate Admission cost $200 USD.
  • All courses accept PayPal for payment.
How many hours will I need to be online to complete the Admission course?
  • The courses are self-paced, so there is no set time that you will need to be logged in. We estimate that you will need at least 3-4 hours of internet access each week to review course materials, watch videos, etc. You may then log off and work on your coursework from home offline.

Can I pay for the courses without a credit or debit card?

  • Yes. If you do not have access to a credit or debit card, you may create a PayPal account with your bank account routing number to store your funds securely and pay for courses. Arizona State University does not provide an option for wire transfer (Western Union, etc.) at this time.
