Campus Immersion: How to Apply

Steps to apply to Campus Immersion

Step 1: Obtain a financial guarantee letter (F-1 Students only).

This letter must show proof of at least $7,250 USD or the equivalent in your country's currency to pay for tuition and fees upon arrival to the United States. This letter is required by the U.S. government to issue your visa documents.

If you are not an F-1 student, please begin at step #2.

Step 2: Submit the online application.

You must be prepared to submit the following documents with your online application:

  • Passport
  • Financial guarantee letter (if F-1 student)
  • Dependent (child or spouse) information (if applicable)
  • Agent information (if applicable)

Step 3: Pay the $125 online non-refundable application fee.

The non-refundable application fee can be paid online with a credit card or via a bank transfer.

Underage applicants

Arizona law requires that all individuals under 18 years of age be given consent by a parent or legal guardian before they can receive any medical, surgical or psychiatric treatments. Arizona State University requires that a parental consent form be filled out and signed before enrolling anyone under 18 years of age.

If you are younger than 18-years-old and wish to be admitted to Global Launch, a required part of your application process is having your parent or legal guardian fill out, sign and submit a Parental Consent for Medical Care for Underage Students form.

Important information

If your primary purpose for entering the United States is to study, you must obtain an F-1 student visa. To get your F-1 visa, you must:

Dependent visas

ASU Global Launch will also issue I-20 documents for your dependents when applicable. If you require an I-20 for a dependent, your financial guarantee must provide proof of an additional $1,750 for a spouse or $1,250 for a child. Contact us if you have questions: [email protected].

Transfer students are F-1 students who are already studying in the United States and would like to change schools. If you who wish to transfer to the Global Launch English program, please apply to the program, and then contact your student advisor at your current school.

Transfer procedure

  • Tell your student advisor that you want to transfer to the Global Launch English program. You should tell your advisor BEFORE you finish your current program.
  • Submit your online application, non-refundable application fee, passport copy and statement of financial guarantee.
  • Download and print the

F-1 Status Verification Form, sign it, and ask your current school's student advisor to complete it.

  • Send a copy, or have your advisor send a copy, of the completed F-1 Status Verification form to Global Launch.

If you have been admitted to the Global Launch Campus Immersion English Language Program but cannot attend during the session that you applied for, you can still move toward your goal of learning English. You have many choices.

  1. If you cannot attend on campus, we suggest you join the Online Immersion program, which has the same teachers and learning outcomes as the on-campus program - from the comfort of your home.
  2. If you cannot attend on campus, you may decide to wait for another session. When you defer your application, you change your admission to the next session. You will not be required to pay the non-refundable application fee again, and can attend during the next session. However, this will impact your student immigration status.
    1. Your SEVIS I-20 document is only valid for 30 days after your SEVIS start date. (You can find your SEVIS start date on the I-20 document you received from Global Launch). If you defer your application within 30 days of your SEVIS start date, we will change your status to the new date.
  3. If you cannot attend on campus and cannot attend Online Immersion, you may decide to take a self-paced online course, with no live class sessions. These are good ways to advance your English before you join a full-time program.

Instructions to defer your application

To defer your application, please email [email protected] and include the following information:

  • Your full name as listed in your passport
  • Your ASU ID number
