Conditional Admission to ASU
About Conditional Admission
What is Conditional Admission?
Arizona State University (ASU) gives "Conditional Admission" to students who have the academic skills and abilities to be successful at ASU, but do not have the English language test results (TOEFL, IELTS or PTE) required to attend the University.
Conditional Admission will allow you to improve your English before attending ASU. Your Conditional Admission offer will expire after three semesters.
Before your offer expires, you can do one of these two things to fulfill the English requirement:
- Complete the Global Launch English Language Program OR
- Take the TOEFL, IELTS or PTE test and receive a passing score.
What is the English Language Program about?
Global Launch at ASU has been offering intensive English language instruction for over 40 years, and has served over 22,000 students from more than 160 countries. Global Launch teachers and staff help students meet their English goals, experience American culture and prepare for university-level academic study.
Students who successfully complete the Advanced 2 level of the Global Launch intensive English program will receive a TOEFL waiver. This means that you will not need a TOEFL score to complete your admission to Arizona State University.
Conditionally admitted Global Launch students will receive special program benefits. Some of these benefits include:
- Exclusive access to ASU advisers from some of ASU’s top degree programs
- Access to on-campus housing and dining facilities
- ASU student discounts
- Free English support and tutoring services
How long will I be in Global Launch?
